NOTION - Native James Digital Cover
2026
Production Assistant / Photographer
Conformity doesn’t exist in @nativejamesuk’s world.
Drawing on grime and punk’s counterculture spirit, alongside metal’s intensity, the UK artist is carving out his own lane in alternative music whilst challenging expectations of where Black artists belong.
Fresh off winning the @aim_uk Independent Music ‘One to Watch’ award for, Native James sees music as more than a means of expression; it’s a way to heal, connect and help people feel less alone. For our latest digital cover, we caught up with him on the transformative power of music and his ambition to create something that stays with people long after the last song ends.
